Export Weights, Scanning and Traits to Breedplan

Submitting weights and other data to Breedplan from Stockbook

Note: You must have your Breed Society details set-up in Stockbook before you are able to export data


1. Select Required Animals

On the animal screen select the required animals

    2. Select Weights, Scanning and Traits (Breedplan) 

  • Go to File
  • Export options
  • Weights, Scanning and Traits (Breedplan) 


 3. Select the Export Type 

    For Export Type Weights, Traits and Scan
  1. A weight observation code (Wts.Obs.Code) and an optional weigh date range can then be added. This will export data for any animals that have a weight of the specified type (and date range if specified)
  2. Any trait (up to a maximum of 12) or scan measurement within 7 days of a selected weight will automatically be included in the export.
For Export Type Weights and Scan
  1. Same as above except traits will not be included in export
For Export Type Scan Only
  1. Select the required details by inputting a range of scanning dates
For Export Traits Only (Normal)
  1. Select the traits you want to export data for by specifying a range of measurement dates
  2. No more than 12 traits can be exported.
For Export Traits Only (Structural)
  1. The desired traits can be selected by specifying a range of measurement dates
  2. There is no limit to the number of traits that can be exported but only traits specified by Breedplan will be exported.
            

4. Analysis Indicator

This section is used to specify how your information is to be analysed by Breedplan.

 Select or leave blank the option in Analysis Indicator 

5. Select the correct Wts.Obs.Code 

Select the Wts.Obs.Code which corresponds to the data being submitted

 6. Selected Animals Only

  • Tick the Just use animals already selected on main list box
  • Select the appropriatHip Heights recorded in option
  • Select the appropriate Hip Heights required in option
  • Select the appropriate Scrotal recorded in option
  • Select the appropriate Scrotal required in option. NOTE: Breedplan require scrotal measurement in mm.

If animals have not been pre-selected via the main animal list, all criteria must be entered, e.g. weight type, date range, etc. Animals selected will have performance data that matches the entered criteria.

 

7. Saving but NOT Opening the File

  • Select Save 
  • Browse your folders and choose the location to save the file
  • Do Not open the file once it has been saved. Opening the file can corrupt the data.

 

8. Start the Export


  • Select Export
  • Select Yes to Confirm message: 'Export weights/traits to C:\.....\.....\Stockbook\weights.dat?'
  • Select Yes to Confirm message: 'Do you want to include a printout with the export (recommended)?'
  • Select OK to Information message 'Export Complete.'You can now email the save file to ABRI/Breedplan
  • You can now email the save file to ABRI/Breedplan
  • Tick the Email File box in Step 3, if you want the file to be sent directly by email. 
  • You will be notified if any of the animals you have chosen do not have a weight of the specified type.


9. Scrotal Measurement Error 001

A "Scrotal Measurement Error 001" might be encountered when trying to export Scrotal Measurement information

To resolve the error:
  1. Go to File>Export Options
  2. Select Weights/Scanning and Traits (Breedplan) option 
  3. In this window choose to export the Scrotal as recorded in mm instead of cm.
