Assigning other costs to animals
A Cost Event allows you to record all costs incurred by any animals. Other costs are for example Transport can be added to an animal.
Step 1. Open the Animals List
- Click on the Animals toolbar option to open the current animal list.
Step 2. Selecting Animals for Event
Select the animal(s) for the event
Selected animals will appear with a Dark Green background Animals can be selected in different ways:
To select ALL animals currently displayed, click on the Select All button located at the top right hand side of the screen
To select animals in a continuous group, use your mouse to click on the first animal in the group, hold down the Shift key and then click on the last animal in the group
To select animals at random, hold down the Ctrl key and then use your mouse to click on the required animal/s
To select one animal, just click on that animal
You can also click on the Filter button to narrow your selection criteria e.g. mob, group, paddock, primary IDs, sex, etc.
If you are uncertain how many animals you currently have selected:
- Look at the Animal Selected amount located just above the Print button, at the bottom of the Animals screen.
- Animals Listed indicates all animals currently listed in the screen above.
Step 1. Events
- Click on the Events button located at the bottom of the current Animal listing screen
Step 2. Select Event
Step 3. Enter the Cost Information
You can enter cost information in one of 3 ways:
Enter the Same Information for all Animals:
Enter details into the default fields below
Default Amt. can be a Per Hd (per head) or a Total amount
If it's a Total amount, then it will be divided evenly amongst the selected animals
The calculated price will appear in the spreadsheet (described below)
You can add a Default Detail by clicking on the "+" button beside the dropdown list
The Default Amt. can be calculated by entering a rate and multiplier e.g. $2 per day for 60 days = $120, in the Calculate default amount at the rate of section
Enter Specific Details:
Enter specific details for each animal in the spreadsheet
Any details entered in the spreadsheet will override these defaults
A Mixture of Above:
If a particular column in the spreadsheet is empty for any animal, then the default value will be applied instead
Click on the OK button to save or on Cancel/Exit button to abort the event
Click Yes to the Confirm message: "Are you sure you want to assign costs for displayed animals?"
Click OK to the Information message: "Event Complete."
If you make a mistake follow these steps to udo it,
Select the same animals again
Click on the Events button
Click on Costs to select
Click on the Undo button
