Setting Up Bluetooth RFID Scanning
Overview:
Stockyard Mobile lets you connect Bluetooth RFID Tag Readers to scan tags directly into Lots during your pre-sale process. This enables faster, more accurate data entry.
⚠️ Important Note: iOS Compatibility
Stockyard Mobile for iOS does not support Bluetooth RFID Tag Readers.
While iPhones/iPads can connect to Bluetooth devices, Apple places strict restrictions on non-standard Bluetooth peripherals (like RFID readers). These devices often require MFi (Made for iPhone) certification to function, which limits compatibility.
In contrast, Android devices are far more flexible with Bluetooth connections—making them the preferred platform for using RFID Tag Readers in Stockyard Mobile.
Follow the steps below to configure your Bluetooth devices. Once set up correctly, the Scanning and In Draft Scanning buttons will be enabled on the Stockyard Mobile Main Menu, allowing you to start scanning tags into lots.
🛠️ Getting Started with Bluetooth RFID Readers
📱 Ensure you're using an Android device. iOS is not supported for this feature.
🔗 Step 1: Pair Your RFID Reader with Your Phone
Before using Stockyard Mobile, you must first pair your RFID wand or reader with your phone via Bluetooth:
Go to your Android Settings
Tap Bluetooth
Turn Bluetooth ON (if it's off)
Place your RFID wand in pairing mode (refer to the wand manual if needed)
Select the wand from the list of available devices and pair it

Once your device is paired, you can proceed with Stockyard Mobile setup.
📲 Step 2: Set Up in Stockyard Mobile
Open the Stockyard Mobile app
Tap the Menu Bar (≡), then go to Settings
Scroll down to the Devices section
Tick “Use Bluetooth RFID Reader”
Configure the options below based on your setup:
