What to do when you get a New Computer

When you are transferring your Stockbook program and data from an old computer to a new one, there are a number of steps involved:
  1. Backup the data from your old computer;
  2. Install Stockbook onto your new computer;
  3. Register your new Stockbook installation;
  4. Restore your backup;
  5. Engage the Sync if you are syncing with other devices.

Step 1: Backing up your data

If you sync with other devices, a fresh backup is vital to ensure your most up-to-date data is transferred to the new computer.
Sync all your devices to ensure you have the most up-to-date data ready to be backed up.  This will reduce the time it takes to perform the initial sync on your new device.
If any work has been performed since the backup took place, the initial syncing process will take a lot longer than needed.

Step 2. Install Stockbook onto your new computer

To ensure you are installing the most up to date version of Stockbook, it is best to install the program from our website':
  • Login with your five digit Outcross Systems Client ID
    and Password.
    This can be found in your Welcome Letter from Outcross Systems

 Step 3. Register your program

When the Stockbook installation is complete, double click on the Stockbook icon on your Desktop.
The Register Now window will appear:
  1. Enter the same Client ID and Password you used to download the program.
  2. Click on the Register Now button.
There is no need for an Unlock Code if your subscription is up to date.
Stockbook is now installed and registered.

If you have skipped this window by clicking on Go to Demo before purchasing Stockbook, you will need to register your program using the following steps:
It is not possible register your program if you are in Demonstration mode
If you are in Demonstration Mode, click on File Other Databases Default Database menu option to change databases.

Step 5:  Engage the Sync

If you are syncing with other devices e.g. computers, Stockhand and/or hardware, please call Outcross Systems on 1800 799 107 to have the sync engaged on your new computer.
To reduce the time it takes to do a first sync on the device, it is recommended to use a fresh Backup and no other syncs performed on other devices until the first sync is completed on the new device.
It might appear as if you are able to sync.  This is because you have restored from a working device.  Data is not automatically sent to Agrisphere without the sync being manually engaged by a Support Team Member at Outcross Systems.
Please ensure that you call to get your data correctly synced and aligned to prevent any data issues in the future.
