JOININGS: Record Joinings, Planned Joinings and Convert Planned Joinings

When selecting joinings Bulk in Events you are able to record a single Sire bulk join, create a planned joining event that can be converted to an actual joining and assign a joining to an embryo Transfer program.

1. Record a Joining Event

Recording joinings for a group of females to a single or multi Sire.
To create a multi-sire group you will need to firstly go to Setup > Multiple Groups > Sire
For more information on creating a multi sire group click here

Step 1: Select the females to be joined

Step 2: Select Events  > Joinings (Bulk) > OK

There are 3 mating types to choose from: Natural, Hand Mate or AI.

Step 3. In the Joining Event window, you may enter the following details:

Once the joining is complete the status of the animal will automatically change in Stockbook to reflect the joined status.

2 . Record Planned Joinings

Planned joinings are those which are anticipated to take place in the future.
A planned joining will not change the status of the animal.
You must ensure that you have ticked the Planned Joining Only box.

3. Convert Planned Joining to Actual Joining

To convert planned joining to actual joining, follow the steps below:

Firstly the animals must have the planned joinings recorded.

Step 1. Select the animals that you wish to apply the change to.

Step 2. Go to Events > Joinings - convert planned to actual > Select OK

Step 3. If the date of the actual join varies from the original planned date, there is an opportunity to change the date here.

Step 4. Select OK. This will convert the planned join to an actual join
