Setting up Email Queue

What is a Queue?

A queue allows you to quickly manage Printers and Emails using the Print Queue options available in Livestock, Clearing Sales, Accounting, Address Book, and Postman. For instance, the Email Queue can be used by multiple email accounts or a single account to create customized emails as needed.

Setting up Email Queue

Prerequisites:
  1. Need Email setup for a Workstation
Steps to Add an Email Queue:
  1. On the Main Menu --> Click System at top and then 'Print Queue'

  2. Click on Add
  3. Add in:
    1. Description: Name of the Queue (in this instance, "Email Queue")
    2. Queue Type: Email Queue
    3. Where: Set to the Workstation Code where says "E-Mail: ..."
  4. Click Save
  5. You should see something similar to this image (where Workstation will list the Name of Server)

On the Server - Restart Postman or Stockyard completely for the Queue to appear in Postman

Testing the Email Queue:

  1. Open Postman
  2. Click on Queue Setup at top 
  3. Tick 'Print Test Page' for Email Queue and click Accept

  4. Type in the Email address you want to send a test email to and click Accept

How to use (Example will be for Livestock):

  1. Open Livestock --> Open a Sale
  2. Click Reports at top
  3. On the right-hand-side, you will see Print Queue, click on the dropdown and select the queue you have created.
  4. You can then click Generate Report (after selecting a Report)
  5. Which will open a new window for you to specify the email address for that report to send

  6. Once done, click Send Email and the email will start sending in Postman
