Product and Feed Purchases

Product and Feed Setup

To enter the purchase of a product or feed, you need to first add the product or feed item in the setup section.
  1. In Stockbook go to Products and click Setup





  1. Click Add

















  1. Enter all the valid details for the Feed or Product
  2. Note the Product Type choice Feed or Vet Product


Make sure to enter the Withholding Period (days), along with the ESI (days), so Stockbook is able to record that information for recording and auditing purposes.
For the Used in Treatment, we suggest simplifying it to how you apply the product:
    1. Vaccine, Drench, Dip, Powder, Reproduction, etc.
  1. Click OK

Product Purchase - Product

Now you will be able to add the purchase of the feed or product, so you can treat or feed animals. The following example refers to the purchase of Animal Treatment.  The same applies for animal feed. 
  1. Click on Products
  2. Select Product Purchases

  1. Click Add

  1. Enter your product details 
    1. Batch number, Quantity purchased, Expiry date, etc.

  1. Click OK
Handy Tips
Use the " + " button to open the "Product Setup" window.
Stockbook automatically generates a unique Batch Number for your product.  We strongly recommend that you enter the Batch number located on the product packaging.
When you enter the cost of purchase, every time you treat an animal with this product, Stockbook applies a treatment cost to the animal which will be a fraction of the purchase cost.
To maintain your chemical inventory, you can do a stocktake event or a Finished/Disposal event. When a product is used up, it is marked as "Used" and remove from the active inventory list.
If you wish to view used chemicals on the Products screen, click "Include Used". The "Used" products will show up as blue.

Product Purchase - Feed

Now you will be able to add the purchase of the feed or product, so you can treat or feed animals. (The following example refers to the purchase of feed). 
  1. Click on Products
  2. Select Feed Purchases

  1. Click Add

  1. Enter your product details 
    1. Batch number, Quantity purchased, etc.
  1. Click OK
