Once DNA results have been received they can be imported to Stockbook and stored in the DNA table.
1. Importing DNA results for Parent Verification
Download the .csv file and save it to the computer
There are a few checks to follow before importing DNA results for Parent Verification to Stockbook.
- Ensure all Animal Society Identifications (ID's) are in Stockbook as per the DNA results file
- Ensure all Sire Society Id's are in Stockbook as per the DNA results file
- Ensure all Dam Society Id's are in Stockbook as per the DNA results file
To ensure all society ID's are correct for the Animals tested and the respective sires and dams;
- Go to File > Import Options > Details from Data File
- The observation date can be today's date in this instance.
- To check the Animal Id's are correct align the the Data Type to Society Details and the Stockbook Field to Society ID with the Animal ID and click OK.
- Make corrections to ID's if any errors occur.
- Repeat the same process for the Sire Id.
- Repeat the same process for the Dam ID.
Now that all the animals and their respective society ID's are correct in Stockbook, the DNA results can be imported.
The Import is a 2 step process
- Go to File > Import Options > Details from Data File
- Select the file
- The observation date will be the date the results are received

2. Importing the DNA genetic test results
