Exporting, Importing and setting WBVs (Wagyu Breeding Values) from Helical

To export WBV's from the Helical portal for importing into SB

A. Export WBV's from the Helical Portal

  1. Log in to helical 


Once on the Dashboard:
  1. Select  View latest WBVs . All WBVs will be displayed on screen.

  1. Click the dropdown arrow in View and select WBV_EXTENDED (Stockbook)


Once the display has been updated select Export. The file will be downloaded to the Downloads folder on your computer. 


B. Setting EBV's to Helical 

The default EBV setup in Stockbook is for Breedplan EBV’s.
To change the EBV template to Helical (for WBV's), follow the steps below:

  1. Select any animal
  2. Click the EBV tab at the bottom of the screen
      

This will open the EBV window which will display generic Breedplan EBV’s
  1. Click the Setup 

  1. Click Set Helical 

  1. Click Yes to the following message
  1. Click Yes to the following message
  1. Click Yes to the following message

Allow the screen to refresh
AWA specified EBV’s will now be set

  1. Click Close to return to the animals Blank WBV display.
  2. Click Close again to exit back to the main animal screen.


C. Importing Wagyu Breeding Values (WBV's)

  1. Go to File > Import Options > Breedplan / Helical

  1. Select Helical
  2. Locate the saved file by clicking the yellow folder symbol
Note: The Default for loading EBV’s is Group and are interchangeable.

  1. Click Yes to the following message

  1. Agree to downloading the selected file
  2. Set the date of the WBV analysis

Return to the animals that were included in the WBV file and check that their EBV’s, accuracies and percentiles all imported correctly.

The WBV import is now complete.
