Exporting Data to Sheep Genetics

Step 1. Select Pedigree and Performance Data menu option

  • Click on the  File > Export Options > Pedigree and Performance Data  menu option.
  • If this option does not show up, ensure you have selected the sheep society. You can select/change societies by clicking F7 key

Step 2.  Select and enter the appropriate details for your flock 

  • Click on the  OK  button

Step 3. Click on the Yes button to confirm export

  • Click on the  No  button   to go back (to  Step 2 ) and make changes

If there are any errors in your data that need to be fixed, you may receive one or more error reports (similar to the ones below).

Step 4.  Select which option you require

  • Click on the  OK  button
  • Repeat  Step 4  if similar errors occur

Step 5.  Once the export file is created you will be prompted with the message below

  • Click on the  Yes  button

Step 6.  If you receive the following warning: 

  • Click on the  OK  button

  • The following report will be generated
  • Click on the  Error  to expand the selection to identify the animals with errors
  • You can keep a copy of the report by clicking on either the  Print  or  Save  button
  • Click on the  Close  button

Step 7.  You will receive the following message:

Note the location where the file is saved - you will need this when sending this file to SG.
Click on the  OK  button

Step 8.  You should now be shown a report of what you are exporting in a Print Preview form

  • You should check this report
  • You can choose to either  Print, Save  or  Close  the report by clicking on the selection

Step 9.  You can now send the file to Sheep Genetics

  • Attach the file you saved from the location in  Step 7  to an email to Sheep Genetics
