Embryo Backup

Embryo Backup or Transfer is useful if you may wish to backup Embryos you are selling or buying from another Stockbook user.
Embryos and their details can be transferred to another Stockbook user electronically.
If you have:
  • sold embryos to a breeder who also uses Stockbook;
  • transferred embryos from one property to another; or
  • have transferred embryos to another web group member;

You can transfer all the details of these embryos very conveniently via a special backup. 

Step 1. Click on the  File > Data Transfer > Backup Selected Embryos menu option. 

Step 2. This will then bring up a list of all of the available embryos.

  • This list is multi-selection enabled to allow for the use of the Ctrl or Shift keys in conjunction with the mouse.
  • Click on the Filter button if you wish to reduce the number of embryos displayed. You can select one, some or all of the following criteria:  Program name, Donor Dam, Recipient Dam, Sire, Location, Owner, Status, Garde  a range of Flush Dates, range of Implant Dates/or Birth Dates.

 

  • Enter selection criteria of the embryo/s you wish to Filter for.
  • Click on the OK button.

 

Step 3. After filtering for the required embryo's they will appear in a list as shown below.

  1. Select the specific embryos you are wishing to transfer.
    Selected embryos will be highlighted blue.
  2. Click on the Transfer button at the bottom of the window.

Step 4. In the Backup/Restore Data Files window:

  1. Click on the folder icon to browse/select a location to save the backup.
  2. Click OK to save.

Step 5. Click OK to Information message: 'Backup Complete'.

Step 6. To view the information of this transfer, click on the ET Module toolbar icon.

 

  • Click to highlight the Program Name in question.
  • Click on the Details button.

 

  • This will show the Details for the Program selected. 

    Once you have completed an embryo transfer the embryo will no longer be in the ET Module for for this program; however, it will still show in the Flushes and Joinings. This is because a transfer implies that you no longer have these embryos for you use as you have most likely sold or given them to someone else.

  • To view the transferred embryos; tick the Include Transfers box, see example below
