Connecting YardsTech Reader and Scale
Connecting YardsTech Devices
YardsTech phone App
You will need the YardsTech App on your phone for any calibration or adjustment to the scale and for connecting a non YardsTech reader to the scale.
Now Go to Setup > Connections > locate the reader/scale > select BT
Note: The YardsTech® Stick Reader should be updated to firmware version 2025.01.01 or later.
Connecting ONLY the YardsTech Reader to Stockbook
- Turn on the YardsTech® Stick Reader.
- After the reader has started, press the reader's power
button again
- The reader should beep, and the blue LED should
stay on. Doing so will put the reader into WiFi hotspot mode.
- Connect your PC to the "YardsTech"
WiFi network. There is no password required.
In Stockbook
- Select Electronic Id > Setup
- Go to Reader 1 or Reader 2, Select "YardsTech Stick Reader" from the
drop-down menu
- Select Manual Setup
- Clear out the Name field.
- Enter 192.168.4.20 into the IP field.
- Select OK
- The Reader 1 or 2 circle should now be green indicating the device is connected.
Connecting ONLY the YardsTech Scale to Stockbook
- Turn on the YardsTech® Scale.
- Connect your PC to the "YardsTech" WiFi network. There is no password required.
In Stockbook
- Select Electronic Id tab > Setup
- Select YardsTech Scales from the drop-down
menu
- Select Manual Setup
- Type the following IP address:
192.168.4.1
- The Scales circle should now be green indicating the device is connected.

Connecting BOTH the YardsTech Reader and Scale to Stockbook
- Turn on the YardsTech® Scales.
- Turn on the YardsTech® Stick Reader. The stick reader should automatically
connect to the YardsTech (Scale) WiFi hotspot.
- Connect your PC to the "YardsTech" WiFi network. There is
no password required.
In Stockbook
- Go to Electronic Id
- Select "YardsTech Stick
Reader" in the reader section
- Select Manual Setup
- Clear the
‘Name’ field
- In the IP field enter 192.168.4.20
- Select OK
- Select "YardsTech Scales"
in the scales section.
- Select Manual Setup
- Clear the
‘Name’ field
- In the IP field enter 192.168.4.1
- Select OK
- Both the Reader and the Scales circle should now be green indicating both devices are connected to Stockbook.
- Select Close to exit the device setup
You are now ready to start your Live Entry Session.
To ZERO the Scales from within Live Entry, click the Scale Weight box. It
may take a couple of seconds to zero out.
