Create a New Employee

Create a New Employee

Introduction

Creating an employee profile in Stockyard is essential for managing user access, tracking database changes, and restricting certain functions (as required). Each employee represents a unique user in the system, and their profile permissions determine the actions they can take. This guide outlines the steps to create a new employee, including assigning permissions and linking profiles.

Notes
For more details on configuring profile settings and report access, please refer to the Show and Hide Reports in Livestock.

Steps to Create an Employee

  1. Open the Address Book.
  2. Create or open an existing contact that you want to designate as an employee.
  3. Once the contact is created or opened, click on Employee Details.

Understanding Employee Permissions and Access

  1. Employee Code:

    • Create a unique Employee Code. This can be the same as the Contact Code if desired.
  2. Password:

    • Set a password that the employee will use to sign in to Stockyard. This password can also be changed by any Administrator if required.
  3. Profile Restriction Level:

    • Select the appropriate level of restriction for the employee profile. Options may include roles such as Agent, Administrator, Yard Staff, etc. This determines the level of access and permissions the employee will have in the system.
For more details on managing profiles and report access, refer to the Show and Hide Reports in Livestock.
  4. Owning Agent (Saleyards Only):

    • If applicable, select the "Owning Agent" for this employee. This setting restricts the employee’s view to data relevant to their specific agent (e.g., selecting "Elders" will restrict the employee to view Elders' information, while "All Agents" will grant access to all available data).
