Create a Copy of a .CSV or a .DAT File

How do I create a copy of a .CSV or a .Dat file?

Step 1. Locate File

  • Locate the .csv or .dat file you want to copy (normally in Documents or on the Desktop)

Step 2. Select File

  • Right click on the Selected file
  • Select the Copy menu option

Step 3. Paste the Selected File

  1. Right click on the screen (but not on the selection)
  2. Select the Paste menu option

Step 4. Check for Copied File

The copy of the .csv or .dat file is now beside the original file

If you need to open the file, always use the Copy in case the data gets corrupted.  This way you will always have the original to revert to.
