Connecting the Gallagher TW-3 to Stockbook

About the Gallagher TW  series

All Gallager TW devices are a weigh scale only and therefore only bring in the weight. 
All Gallagher TW devices are connected as Gallagher/Ruddweigh KM3/300..800 in Stockbook. 
 
Note, a Gallagher TW series can be set as a datalogger - i.e. when paired to another device such as a reader and then connected to SB - not recommended

It is important to identify which series and model you are connecting.
The Model can be found on front of the device below the screen.

The TW-3



When connecting the Gallagher TW-3 to Stockbook, follow the steps outlined below:

Please ensure Live Entry is closed while connecting the device.

On the Gallagher TW-3

  1. Turn on the Gallagher TW-3
  2. Click on the settings cog to the right of the screen


  1. Click on Device Settings > Bluetooth 
      

      
      
  1. At this point:
    1. Enable BT will be ticked
    2. Below connected devices it will say no device
      
  1. Leave the TW-3 on this page.

      On the computer

  1. Navigate to Bluetooth and devices
  1. Click Add Device 
      
  1. You may need to click Show all devices to select the device
            

  1. Select the device, click connect and accept the pair code that appears.
      

  1. Click Done. The scale will now be connected to the computer.
  2. Go to More Bluetooth settings
      
  1. Options tab - ensure 'Allow Bluetooth devices to find this PC' is ticked.
            
  1. Select COM Ports tab and make note of the Outgoing COM Port number
           

  1.  Close both Bluetooth windows

In Stockbook

  1. Go to the Electronic Id. 
  2. Click Setup
      
         
  1. From the scales dropdown select Gallagher/Ruddweigh km3/300..800 
  2. Select Manual Setup
  3. Select the COM Port number that was noted during the Bluetooth connection process
     

  1. The device will now be connected to the computer

In Live Entry

  1. Go to the Live Entry home page - Do not select a template at this stage. This is vital for the TW-3 to respond. 
      

Back to the TW-3 

The computer name should now appear on the TWR-5 and the BT icon on the taskbar should go from grey to orange.

 
  1. Click on the computer name

    
      
  1. Will say 'Connected to master' on the to right
  2. Click back arrow 3 times to go to Settings
  3. Click Equipment connections
  4. In data device 1 or 2 it should say (Ruddweigh).
      
  1. If it says Datalogger it will need to be changed to Ruddweigh.
  2. To change to Ruddweigh:
    1. Click the computer name 
    2. Click Settings 
      
  1. Click Type
                 
  1. In the following screen - Set Type, tick Ruddweigh

You  will then be taken back to the data output setting screen

                    
       
  1. Name - Should now reflect the computer name
  2. Type - Should say Ruddweigh           
  1. Now Click View Options - Untick all options with the exception of the last 2 options
    1. Send on weight lock & Send on weight change must be ticked.       
       
  1. Click Done
  2. Click Save 
  3. You will now be back to the main screen 
  4. Click Resume  - You should now see the weight on the scale
  5. Close Live Entry down - the orange BT icon should go grey
  6. Open Live Entry again and the BT light on the TW-3 should go orange (you have a connection)
  7. Select the Live Entry template
  8. The weight on the top of the Live Entry screen in the scale weight box should replicate the weight on the TW-1 screen. Generally it is 0.0 
      
  1. Apply a weight to the scales and the zeros will change according to the weight applied.
You are now ready to start Live Entry!

      Hint: sometimes data device 1 will only give the option of 'oviscan' that can be difficult to get out of. In this case select data device 2
