Capture of EIDs to assign to a user list

Capture of EIDs to assign to a user list

Capturing the Animals to the List initially:

This can be done two ways.  Either by Fast EID Capture or transferring data from a reader.

Option 1: FAST EID CAPTURE

  • Stockbook needs to be connected to your reader in the yards.
  • As each animal is scanned its electronic ID will be read and added to the list.
  • If that EID is already in Stockbook, it's VID will be displayed in a bracket after the EID
  • If the EID is not yet in Stockbook or assigned to a VID the word **MISSING** will be displayed in a bracket after the EID.

Animals that are not yet in Stockbook can be added via the Multi-Add Missing button.  Click here  to follow those instructions.

Step 1.  Ensure that your reader is connected to Stockbook

  • For connectivity instructions click here.
  • Go to  Electronic ID > Fast EID Capture

Step 2.  The screen below will appear

  • Scan your tags of your animals and they will appear in this screen

Step 3.  Select the EIDs in the list that you want to transfer to a user list

  • Go the the drop down box beside List in the Fast EID Capture screen and select the user list to add the animals to.

  • If the user list is not yet created select the + button to add a new list.

  • Select Add to User List if you want to add the animals to an existing list that has animals on it that you do not want cleared off.
  • Select Overwrite User List if you want the selected user list to be cleared before adding the new EIDs

  • Select  Save to List

Option 2: TRANSFER DATA FROM READER

  • This will transfer data from a reader after using it to scan a session of tags in the yards
  • If that EID is already in Stockbook it's VID will be displayed in a bracket after the EID
  • If the EID is not yet in Stockbook or assigned to a VID the word   **MISSING**   will be displayed in a bracket after the EID
  • Animals that are not yet in Stockbook can be added via the multi-add missing button.  Click here to follow those instructions

Step 1.  Ensure that your reader is connected to Stockbook

  • For connectivity instructions  click here
  • Go to  Electronic ID > Transfer Data From Reader

Step 2.  The screen below will appear

  • Select Transfer Data from Reader to bring the session into Stockbook.

Step 3. Add or Multi-Add missing animals

  • To add animals to a user list or multi-add missing animals follow the same steps as when in the Fast EID Capture screen as shown in step 3 above.
