Edit, Activate Add or Inactivate a Trait

There may be occasion to create a new Trait.

Before adding a new trait check first to ensure it does not exist.

1. Check if Trait already exists

  1. Go to Setup 
  2. Performance 
  3. Traits 
  4. Tick Include Inactive. All inactivate traits will now be list in red and italic lettering

2. Reactivate an inactive Trait

  1. Select the inactive trait
  2. Select Edit 
  3. Untick Inactive 
  4. Select OK 

3. Adding or editing a trait 

  1. Go to Stup
  2. Performance
  3. Traits


  1. Select Add to add a new trait or Edit to edit an existing trait
  2. Enter a code 
  3. Enter a description 
  4. Select one of the 3 Live Data Entry/Import Options
SB Index: For recording traits that will have a value between 1 and 10.
Values for traits using this option must be a whole number, and cannot contain letters.

Value (measured): For recording traits that are measured (e.g. cm, mm), such as Hip Height or Scrotal Circumference.
Values for traits using this option can contain any numerical value, and cannot contain letters.

Score: For recording traits that may not always have a purely numerical value, e.g. A+.
Values for traits using this option can contain up to 5 characters (numerical, letters or symbols).


Select OK  to save 
Data can now be added for this trait through Live Entry or import from a file.

4. Inactivating a trait

  1. Select the trait
  2. Select Edit
  3. Tick Inactive
