Adding a Leading Zero in Excel
e.g. the ID number 091234 will appear as 91234 when imported into Excel
Step 1. Highlight the Column
Highlight the column that you wish to alter by clicking on the letter above it
Step 2. Format Cells
Then right click on that column and go down to Format Cells
Step 3. Customise Numbering
Click on the N umber tab and then Custom category and change the type to 00000# (This is for a number that has 6 digits).
Then click the OK button
